4S Ranch Triathlete Needs Your Support

jeffJeff Hutcheon is indeed a triathlete. He has already completed one major Ironman Competition and is about to compete in his second. Jeff is also a father, a husband, and a man who loved his late brother, Brad, very much.

Brad, who was also an athlete, had begun laying plans to create an endowment to benefit the Goleta Boys Club in Santa Barbara County where the family grew up.

Although he was able to create the endowment, he never had the chance to donate the $25,000 that he intended.

After a two year battle with cancer, Brad lost his fight on July 14, 2007. Jeff has chosen the Ironman (2.4 miles swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run) to fulfill his brother's wishes.

Raising the funds for the endowment will ensure that the children in Goleta will have continued access to the programs and services that were so important to him at a young age.jeff

Hutcheon is fundraising as part of the Janus Charity Callenge, an innovative program designed and sponsored by the investment management firm, Janus. The program acts as a catalyst to motivate Ironman athletes to use the race to raise money for charity. But unlike most other race fundraisers, there is no pre-determined beneficiary. Each athlete can select the non-profit organization they wish to support. Since the program's inception in 2001, triathletes have raised over $18 million for hundreds of charities throughout the United States.

Jeff is putting out a call to our community to support his fundraising efforts. The Ironman competition will take place on Sunday, April 13, 2008 and contributions must be made by Saturday, April 12.

Help a fellow resident fulfill his late brother's dream. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. To make a contribution, go to
